WAEC IRIS (Irregularity Reporting & Investigation System) is a secure digital platform that enables the transparent management of examination irregularity and malpractice cases conducted by the West African Examinations Council in Ghana. The App replaces paper-based processes with a centralized, real-time system for reporting, tracking, and resolving examination misconduct cases.
Core functions of the App include:
WAEC IRIS serves two distinct categories of authorized users. Each has a different login method and a different level of data access:
Individuals who have sat a WAEC examination and have an ongoing or resolved irregularity/malpractice case. Login requires a candidate index number, date of birth, and year of exam. Candidates can only view their own case status.
Registered schools and their authorized personnel. Login uses Results Listing credentials (email and password). Schools may view irregularity case statuses for all candidates registered under their institution.
We collect only the data necessary to provide the App's services. The table below details all data collected, mapped to Google Play's Data Safety categories:
| Data Category | Specific Data Elements | User Type | How Collected |
|---|---|---|---|
| Candidate Identity | Index number, date of birth, exam year, full name | Candidate | Login entry / WAEC examination records |
| School Credentials | School email address, hashed password, school name, school code | School | Registration / Results Listing system |
| Case Information | Irregularity type, case status, date of offence, subject(s) involved, hearing outcomes | Both | WAEC investigation records (read-only to users) |

| Device Information | Device model, OS version, IP address, App version | Both | Automatically collected on App launch |
